Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Today and days before it.
Today I've been sitting around, feeling bleh, and getting nothing done. I was comatose and unwell this morning, so didn't get to work (sickness is not an excuse! Or never has been before, at least). Had moments where one of the dark days threatened to descend, but thankfully a combination of Beethoven and conversation saved me from that.
Work continues to be easy. I'm tempted to start putting away all the stuff from the audit tomorrow, assuming I'm better and S still hasn't started. It's his job, but he's slow and misfiles, I'm not and don't.
The weekend was a good one. I enjoyed it immensely, and finally got around to talking to someone I've not actually really communicated with since meeting him just after my 20th. I'm rather glad we did end up talking, as he's an interesting chap. The masquerade ball was excellent fun, even if it was under-decorated - not their fault, as the police had been using the place as Pride HQ all day long. Interesting discussions were had, and I was thoroughly flattered- with the certificate to prove it! I've found one image of self and the evening's accomplice from the Ball, which can be found on the Last Tuesday Society's flickr, just here.
Still need new job or home in London or Colchester. Once I have those secured, I will have money. Once I have money, I will be able to get more of the things I like- latex dresses and visits to Leeds or NI and maybe even a pair of boots that won't fall apart.

Nice mask! Is that antique or a modern one? Looks good in the picture, either way.

Boots: I'd reccomend either DMs (from anywhere), or New Rocks from the chap in Whitby. The first NRs I bought there lasted me 3 years of seriously hard use (including being worn 7 days a week when my 2-year-old DMs ceased to be work-suitable and I couldn't afford to buy new ones), and the ones I bought in April seem fine. Unlike the ones I bought in Camden where a zip failed after about 6 months. Interestingly both pairs of the Whitby ones have cream interiors, the Camden ones black. Was I sold a fake, I wonder?

Btw, I'm off to Scotland for a few days week after the 19th, poss when I get back we need to organise everything properly for the WGW? Not decided on getting tickets or not yet, but the three of us are definetly going.

Modern, I'm afraid. Bought it in Camden just a week before the Ball. It was that or a half face one that would only have worked if I'd gone in a nice suit instead of being female. (probably going to get that black half-face one some time *anyway* of course)
My DMs are pale purple, and I only have one, the other being somewhere in Colchester somewhere. My Newrocks need repaired, as the zip's beggared. They have the cream interior, and are proper newrocks.
Whitby- you, me, Faye, Charlotte? Carl seems to be looking into the alternate accommodation he needs, so should be fine.

One boot in Colchester, one where you are now? This isn't the result of an accident with the old Seven League Boot spell I trust? When that goes wrong, the results are often painful... :-)

Whitby, indeed, yourself plus the three of us. When does the landlady require payment? I can possibly sort that by cheque, you can give me your contribution (it's 80 or 90 each, IIRC?) any time that's convenient to you between now and the event. Btw, I now have a brand new van. This has the twin advantages of being black (because everyone knows how proper a Goth you are at the WGW is determined by the colour of vehicle you arrive in), and actually being able to go up hills (which, as you know, is somewhat important on the route to Whitby!). :-)

Organising photoshoots is now becoming mor complex, I have to fit them round Mourning For Autumn gigs and we're already playing three consecuitive weekends in August[1]! But I'd still really like to do some work with you at some point. Speaking of which, have you looked at modeling as proper work? I know that just about every Goth girl on the planet has done some kind of alternative stuff, but you have a look which is both very attractive, and also photogenic. My shots from the WGW suffer from poor lighting and the restricted setting, but even so you look amazing, in a proper studio with a good photographer the results should be very good indeed - poss approach a few mainstream agencies and see what they say? Advertising, big clothes companies, etc, might pay better than the usual student-ish jobs do. Just a thought!

Good luck with getting the boot back!

If I'd have known you were off to a ball I'd have leant you my vintage mask direct from Venice, it is BEAUTIFUL!

What size are you hun? I have a rudiculous shoe and boot collection and could probably happily donate you some to tide you over, I have a pair of new rocks I want rid of and you can have them for nowt, or the price of postage if you're not planning on being local in the not too distant. They are purple though :-)
