Weekends
Hm. I seem to have neglected to write up Whitby. How remiss of me. It was good, bar a few minor incidents such as the destruction of a latex skirt. Banshee Aircrew were excellent, the football was entertaining, I have a Real Gothic FC football scarf and have downloaded the team anthem. Sophie's memorial was very moving, I had a meetup about developing the site into something bigger and shinier later that day, and later still I found myself surrounded by wonderful people at the Steampunk gathering at Sherlock's. The fish and chips were excellent, as always. I have a lovely new underbust corset despite promising myself that I wouldn't, and I have jet and silver earrings at long last. Climbing to the Abbey at 3am on Saturday night was fun, and we met unexpected people since the expected ones didn't turn up. Took part in my first gunge/wetlook shoot, though don't know how it's turned out yet so it may just have been an evening of pouring strawberry sauce on and playing in the shower and bath with another goth girl for no particular result other than a nice meal and pay for my time *ah, how we suffer for our art*

The week that passed... passed.

This weekend hasn't been quite what I thought it would. I intended to get to Free Comic Book Day yesterday, but failed due to sleeping too late after staying awake too late. Also therefore failed to get into the city in time to help a friend moving stuff from one house to the other. And, again, due to bad timing, failed to get in even in time to have hot chocolate and a slice of cake with someone who provides interesting discussion. Did manage to get into London eventually, though. Went to Slimes for socialising and seeing people who don't get to London too often. Was a fairly entertaining evening, especially when a troupe of EFG masks turned up, but was greatly spoiled by its ending- one of the Brumgoth contingent seems to have had her drink spiked, and knocked her head pretty badly as well, so I spent the morning from about 5am onward trying to be helpful and look after the injured one and her friends. I saw them off to their train about six hours later, so they should all be home and safe by now. Flyered Camden with the Listing's cards, failed to get to the London Alternative Market due to dislike of extended time on public transport, and eventually stumbled home via tube, train and bus due to works on the line at Liverpool st *and* at Colchester preventing my taking a single journey.

Now, I suspect I still have the grimy air of Slimelight on my flesh, so I think I'm going to have a quick, thorough shower, then a long, luxurious bath. Shower first so that I do not stew in my own shed skin and grime in the bath. Slimes always leaves me feeling grimy.

Glad you had a good Whitby. My Steampunk fun went well but you were missed, you would have been the icing on the cake!

If there is another, I'll do my best to make it- you know I really wanted to get to the Steampunk shoot, the clash was just unfortunate.

There may well be another one as I really enjoyed it, so I'll keep you informed.

I think Slimelight has that effect on everyone, many would say that's the point ;)

Have you received any of the mail I've sent recently? I've set up the basic server stuff (well, I appear to have b*gg*r*d the Apache config but will fix that this week) for the new List site and started on the DB config, I created a mailing list and sent a couple of messages, but I've had absolutely no response so don't know if anyone bar me is getting the results? I also mailed you access details for the gunge site and info on seeing the photo results, plus a rough review of the shoot (synopsis - I seriously faffwurdled the lighting but you and she were brilliant) a couple of days ago, did it arrive?

Sorry to hear about the trouble at Slimes - drink spiking seems to happen completely at random, there was exactly one instance of it here in Leeds a couple of years back, which really screwed up the person concerned's night - I really don't know why people do that. Drink spikers should have their breathing licences revoked.

Anyway, hope all's well, I took some photos this weekend you might find interesting, will try and get an update done to show them soon - abandoned haunted Edwardian insanitoriums rock, even if we didn't actually get inside. :-)

Sounds like a nice set there, I'll have to see it.
I got one email- the one with the links to the photoset. Nothing else has come through, but I could check my spam filter just in case. I was going to finish going through the set before replying- the pics look okay, I'm just not sure about posture/expression in a few. There again, I can be needlessly picky- might just be better to leave it to your good judgement.

I just posted the link to the insanatorium on my LJ - enjoy!

Being picky is fine, there are almost 400 shots in that set and I'm happy with wet shoots being anything over 250, so feel free to be picky. I'd far rather that a model was 100% happy with a set and hence minded to come and do another one, rather than demanding every shot goes live and leaving her feeling unhappy with the results. And I really did screw up with the lighting that time.

Did an outdoor one yesterday with Purple Jo, change the set number from 11 to 12 in that URL and you can see the results - daylight is so much nicer for photography.

I've now found a reply from timsinister was trapped in my spam filter, so it looks like it is working. Think I've Tony's address wrong though, will fix.

I'll look forward to your mail!

Just noting: The anthem both amuses and frightens me at the same time. Who came up with it?
